Understanding Lipedema with Prof. Dr. Ferit Demirkan

A free, online session for women living with lipedema. Learn what lipedema is, how it is staged, and what surgical and non-surgical treatment can realistically achieve — directly from a European Board Certified plastic surgeon with over 30 years of experience.

Free · Online · Live German captions · No obligation

What you will learn

The session is educational, not a sales pitch. It is built around the questions patients ask most often.

  • What lipedema actually is

How lipedema differs from obesity and lymphedema, why it is so often missed, and how it is diagnosed.

  • The stages and what they mean

Stage 1 to Stage 3 explained in plain language, and how stage influences the treatment options available to you.

  • What surgery can and cannot do

An honest look at liposuction for lipedema — realistic outcomes, limits, recovery, and who is and is not a suitable candidate.

  • Conservative and combined care

Compression, manual lymphatic drainage, movement and nutrition, and how these work alongside — not instead of — surgery.

  • Live questions and answers

An open Q&A at the end. Ask your own questions directly, anonymously if you prefer.

How it works

A small, focused session so every participant can be heard.

Free and online

Join from anywhere by video. There is no cost and no commitment.

Live German captions

The session is in English with live German captions, so German-speaking participants can follow comfortably.

A small group

Roughly 15 to 20 participants per session, kept intentionally small to allow real interaction.

No obligation

Attending the webinar commits you to nothing. It is purely educational.

A limited number of free consultations

Alongside the webinar, a small number of complimentary one-to-one consultation slots are offered to attendees who choose to apply.

  • Spots are limited and offered to a small number of applicants only.
  • Applicants are selected by medical suitability — reviewed by the surgical team — not first-come-first-served and never by lottery.
  • Selection happens before the webinar, so you attend to learn, not to compete for a slot.
  • Applying is entirely optional. You can register for the webinar without applying.

This honest, merit-based approach is deliberate: a free consultation is meaningful only when it goes to the people it can genuinely help.
