Dr. Demirkan is a European Board Certified plastic surgeon in Istanbul, Turkey. He has been an academic surgeon mastering both reconstructive and aesthetic procedures and has trained many young plastic surgery residents. He is one of the founders of the Turkish Board of Plastic Surgery and had extensive contributions to the Turkish Society of Plastic Surgery.
He had fellowships with pioneering surgeons in the world like Dr. Maria Siemionow, who performed the first face transplantation in the US, and Dr. Fu-Chan Wei, a legendary microsurgeon in Asia. He has more than 100 international publications and is a founder member of the World Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery and The International Academy of Oral Oncology.
