Medicana Ataköy Hospital is one of the best hospitals in Turkey. It opened in September 2023. Built over roughly 36,000 m², it has a 208 bed capacity and 8 operating theatres, and treats patients across 48 medical specialties with a staff drawn largely from professors and associate professors. Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery is one of those specialties.
The hospital sits in Ataköy on the European side of Istanbul, around 50 minutes from Istanbul Airport. It holds a Health Tourism Authorisation Certificate for international patients and serves them in 9 languages.
The building was designed to run about 40% more efficiently than comparable facilities, saving 36% on electricity and 39% on natural gas. Its triangulated facade and planted terraces are part of an architecture intended to lower the stress of the time patients and their companions spend in hospital.
Prof. Dr. Ferit Demirkan is not on the hospital's staff. He consults and follows patients up at his own clinic, Demirkan Clinic, and operates in this hospital's theatres.

By Car
From 15 July Martyrs Bridge
After crossing the bridge, follow the signs for Edirnekapi/Fatih. Keep to the right two lanes for about 1.9 km, continue from the left fork and join the Istanbul Ring Road O-1/D100. Take the Atakoy/IBB S. Erdem Sports Hall exit, leave the roundabout at the 1st exit towards Adnan Kahveci Boulevard and follow the boulevard. Turn right onto the ramp signed Zeytinburnu/Topkapi/Yenikapi/Sirkeci; stay in the right lane and you will see the hospital on your right.
From Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge
After crossing the bridge continue on the E-80 towards the Hasdal-Okmeydani junction. Follow the Istanbul Ring Road O-2/E-80 link road and take the Aksaray/Taksim exit, then use the right lane for the Aksaray/Edirne O-3/E-80 link to join the Istanbul Ring Road O-1/D100. Keep to the right two lanes towards Edirnekapi/Fatih and take the Atakoy/IBB S. Erdem Sports Hall exit. Leave the roundabout at the 1st exit towards Adnan Kahveci Boulevard, turn right onto the ramp signed Zeytinburnu/Topkapi and stay in the right lane; the hospital is on your right.
From Istanbul Airport
Around 50 minutes. Head south from Terminal Street and follow the North Marmara Motorway O-7. Stay on the O-7 towards the Istanbul Airport Road, then use the left two lanes to join Yeni Havaalani Street. At the Havuzlu roundabout take the 4th exit towards Rauf Orbay Street; stay in the right lane and you will see the hospital on your right.
